LingSing Chen, Ph.D.

Vice President of Translational Medicine

LingSing Chen joined QPS in 2005 as Executive Director of Molecular Biology and is currently serving as the Vice President of Translational Medicine. She has played an instrumental role in building and expanding QPS’ capabilities in genotyping, expression profiling, PD biomarkers and oligonucleotide-based bioanalytical service areas. Prior to joining QPS, Chen held various research and management positions at Wyeth and other biotech research organizations, where her teams were involved in gene discovery, target validation, assay development, HTS, lead optimization, preclinical development and clinical genetic analysis. Chen received a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Princeton University.

Hui Zhang, M.B.

Director of ImmunoBioanalysis

Prior to joining QPS in 2002, Hui Zhang obtained medical training from West China University Medical Sciences. Between China and the U.S., Zhang has accumulated more than 15 years of pharmaceutical and basic research experience, including posts at Peking Union Medical College, Mount Sinai, Cornell University and DuPont Pharmaceuticals. She was involved in the development of two hepato protective drugs and co-authored more than 20 research papers in drug metabolism and toxicity, iron homeostasis, neuroscience and oxidative process. Since joining QPS, she has led numerous projects that developed, adapted and validated nearly 50 ELISA and cellular assays, which have been applied to the analysis of protein drug and biomarkers for hundreds of studies.

Joy He, M.B., M.S.

Group Leader and Head of PK Bioanalysis

Yuyan (Joy) He joined QPS in 2002 with training in clinical medicine and research experience in molecular biology. Since joining QPS, Joy has been involved in the assay development, validation in the Immunoanalytical/Biomarker area and has been supporting preclinical and clinical studies for various sponsors. Joy is currently serving as the Group Leader and Head of PK Bioanalytical group in the Department of Translational Medicine. Joy received her medical bachelor degree from Medical School of Peking University, China and her M.S. in molecular biology from University of Delaware.

Holly Shen, Ph.D.

Group Leader and Head of Immunogenicity

Honglue (Holly) Shen joined QPS in 2005 as Research Scientist and is currently serving as the Group Leader and Head of Immunogenicity in the Department of Translational Medicine. Her team has worked and expanded QPS capability in Immunogenicity assessment, neutralizing antibody activity evaluation, and cell-based assays. Prior to joining QPS, Holly had worked for ProMetic BioSciences (USA), Inc. in the area of research and product development. Shen received her Ph.D. in pharmacology from Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences at Beijing and her post-doctoral training in immunology from North Carolina State University.

Charles Saginario, Ph.D.

Group Leader and Head of Pharmacogenomics

Charles Saginario joined QPS in 2005 as Senior Research Scientist and was promoted to Group Leader of Pharmacogenomics in 2008. Prior to joining QPS, Charles held the position of Research Scientist at the Women’s Health Research Institute at Wyeth where he helped develop potential treatments for osteoporosis. Charles also served as a Research Associate at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he examined the molecular basis of secondary leukemias in infants. Saginario received his B.S. in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his Ph.D. in molecular cell biology from Yale University.

Susan Carr Zondlo, Ph.D.

Group Leader and Head of Efficacy and Safety Biomarkers

Susan Carr Zondlo joined QPS in 2008 and is currently serving as the Group Leader and Head of Efficacy and Safety Biomarkers in the Department of Translational Medicine. Prior to joining QPS, Susan held senior research scientist positions at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and the University of Delaware, where she also served as an adjunct professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Susan brought to QPS extensive experience in the research areas of oncology, inflammatory disease and cardiovascular disease. Zondlo received her B.A. in biology from Rice University and her Ph.D. in molecular, cellular and developmental biology from Yale University.
